Will artificial turf drain?
Yes, properly installed artificial turf drains well. We remove 3 to 4 inches of soil, lay a compacted crushed-granite base graded away from the house, and use turf with a perforated or fully permeable backing. On heavy clay, grading matters most. If water pools in the first year, we fix it free.
Why puddles happen
Low spots in the base, base that wasn't compacted, or grading toward the house. Turf itself drains quickly; puddles almost always mean a base problem.
Easements
We keep turf and base out of drainage easements and check your plat before quoting.
